About This Spot

Arriving at Chef King II in Semmes feels like stepping into a familiar neighborhood eatery where the pace slows just enough to savor comfort and routine. The modest exterior gives way to a warmly lit interior that hums quietly with the steady rhythm of local patrons gathering for familiar flavors and laid-back meals. It’s the kind of place where the buzz comes not from flashy decor or bustling crowds, but from the simple pleasure of sharing a meal that feels like an extension of home.

The atmosphere here invites a casual, unhurried experience. Whether you’re dropping in for takeout or sitting down to catch up with family or friends, there’s an easygoing spirit that encourages moments of connection over generous plates. The kitchen thoughtfully balances classic Chinese favorites with a personal touch, offering dishes that comfort without fuss.

On any visit, you’ll notice the subtle attentiveness to how meals are prepared and tailored — a reflection of longstanding relationships with locals who often return time and again. The menu whispers of well-loved staples like tender Sesame Chicken and sweet-tangy bursts of Orange Chicken, alongside a variety of chow mai fun noodles that bring a satisfying texture and balanced flavors. For those seeking something lighter, options like steamed veggies and delicately prepared chicken dishes speak to the care taken to provide something for every appetite.

More than the food itself, Chef King II resonates as a steady presence in the community’s dining landscape — a place where customization and a genuine eagerness to get things right feel like natural parts of the service. It’s exactly the kind of approachable spot where you can expect your order to feel thoughtfully prepared and just a little like a trusted secret shared among neighbors.

Usually the Shrimp mai fun has egg, lits of shrimp and vegetables. Today I honestly thought they had forgotten the shrimp. Not sure if even 10 shrimp in it. Literally 90% noodles. Tiny bit of egg and hardly any vegetables at all. VERY disappointing. It's usually so delicious. The general tso's combo was fine and also the chicken teriyaki. Was $38.00.
